I bought a new smartphone, and since then productivity has more than quadrupled. Why? Because my mobile's screen is large enough that I can do anything useful I want to do (check bank account details, check Facebook, write an email, etc) but small enough that I don't enjoy it. I hence haven't turned on my desktop computer in three days, and I've got tonnes of other stuff done. Also, not having Facebook open all day helps. There's something in that Web 2.0 water...
